Rude strangers

It was just a rude email,
I knew I needn't brood,
It wasnt worth a thought even,
Albeit a little crude.

I didnt know the guy, I thought,
Why care what he says,
But still his words hit me hard,
And lingered on for days.

I would never be so impolite,
Perhaps I am a prude!
And then there was this silly guy,
So insufferably rude!

And yet for all my politeness,
To people I hardly know,
I am guilty of haughtiness
With the ones that love me so
