Resolutions

Raindrops are pattering on the pane,
It's chilly outside from the rain,
The lights are out, sounds are dead,
But she's tossing in her comfy bed

It's not fear, mind ye all,
She's already seen many a fall,
But the mind is not at peace you see,
Ideas seem to be soaring free...

She thinks again of letting them go -
It's very tiresome to get up so!
But a forgotten resolution lights the head,
And she decides to get out of bed!

She would pen the thoughts right away,
Make a diary of ideas she may,
(She was on her way to hit it big,
And these smart steps would do the trick!)

She rummages about for a pen to write,
So hard to look without a light,
But the switch, she mutters, is too far out,
And the pen itself is a matter of doubt!

Well, so she has a real reason now
Excuse? She exclaims to herself how!
Ideas will come back to her again,
What's it got to do with the rain?

So she turns, her mind at peace,
Covers herself with that heavenly fleece,
Warm and cosy she slumps in bed,
The resolution put out in the head!
